Description

Hario was established in 1921 in Tokyo, Japan as a manufacturer of laboratory glassware. By the late 1940s, after many years of research, the company introduced its heatproof “HARIO glass”, which allowed the company to introduce its first coffee product – the Hario coffee syphon. After years of expansion in a number of different categories, in 2005, Hario released its iconic V60 Dripper, which has since become the most widely used dripper for manual pour over coffee. Hario’s current catalog now spans kitchenware, laboratory glassware, automotive headlights, aromatherapy, pets products and jewelry, with a particular focus on specialty coffee and tea accessories. In addition to its dedication to product quality, Hario has an unwavering commitment to social responsibility, operating its pollution-free glass factory which utilizes 100% natural ingredients.

I have been using this kettle every day, and so far it has been PERFECT! It hasn’t shown any rust or plastic melting or anything. I am careful to not expose the handles to too much heat. My stove is an electric stove but I’m sure it would be fine on gas stove if you don’t have it too hot. I heat up my water in my hot water kettle, then pour it into my Hario Buono kettle, turn the heat on medium-low, and once it’s boiling (3-5 mins) I immediately remove it from the heat. Also, when I’m done with it, I immediately shake out any excess water, and before the kettle has cooled down, I use the residual heat from the stove coil to dry any leftover water in the kettle. This is done by placing it on the slightly hot stove coil to dry. I leave the top opened to help it dry faster.

I’m so happy about my new kettle, the right capacity, the finish it’s so cool, the pouring it’s just great, I used to pour water from an electric kettle with regular spout and it was heavy so for me it’s a 100% better and 100% new experience. Now I have a new kettle and new scale. My goal is to have an 8 cups Chemex, enjoy.
