I looked a LONG time for a kettle without any plastic or aluminum. Every glass kettle I found had some plastic in it that came in contact with water or steam. But this kettle works very well and I just cannot find a kettle with NO plastic inside. And so many of the metal kettles had reviews that mentioned rust pretty quickly. This kettle has a rigid plastic handle and the top of it has a screw inside the pot at the top anchored in the same plastic. It never touches the water, but it will definitely be in the steam. Sigh.
The plastic handle stays cool to the touch. It has seen daily use since purchase and it’s never been dry- we just keep adding more water and boiling it. The opening is a tight fit for a man’s hand but most women will be able to get their whole hand inside if they ever needed to clean it. But I don’t need to clean it- I literally sanitise it every day by boiling it. There is zero rust. This is very well made. It’s very easy to use and the holding feature is a nice luxury.
